Learn how to use fresh and dried flowers to naturally dye silk in this eco–conscious workshop with designer Georgia Bosson to create your own hand-dyed hair ties and scrunchies.
Suitable for young people aged 11– 14.

What to expect
Join us to learn about bundle dyeing techniques, how to make natural dyes and pigments and how different fibres respond to them.
In this workshop, you will:
  • Learn how to dye silk with bundle dying using only natural flora. We'll be using seasonal plants along with a selection of carefully dried flowers.
  • Learn how to stitch hand-dyed fabrics and turn them into hair ties and scrunchies.
  • Create two unique lengths of delicate silk that we will use to create a hair band or scrunchie that you will be able to take home.
  • You will leave with the knowledge and skills required to make your own bundle–dyed items, using simple equipment which can be found in your kitchen.
In this inspiring and fun workshop, we will also explore creating dye baths from waste foodstuffs to give you the tools to start your own creative journey.
Please note that all equipment, materials and light refreshments will be provided for the duration of the session, but you must bring a packed lunch.
