We are delighted to invite you to an intimate evening with filmmaker and author Lorna Tucker, celebrating her debut memoir - Bare.

About this event

BARE is a raw and unflinching memoir by filmmaker Lorna Tucker, offering an intimate account of her experiences with homelessness, addiction, and survival on the streets of London. Described as “unflinching and unforgettable” by Vogue, this is the first-ever book to delve into female homelessness with such honesty and depth.Lorna's journey has been one of resilience and transformation. From the streets of London to becoming an acclaimed documentary filmmaker, her experiences have shaped her into one of the most compelling voices in contemporary storytelling. Her first feature documentary, Westwood: Punk, Icon, Activist, was an Official Selection at Sundance 2018. She has since directed Ama, Someone’s Daughter, Someone’s Son, and Call Me Kate, and has written for British Vogueand The Guardian. In 2018, she was named one of the biggest breakout female filmmakers by Harper's Bazaarand Elle.
At this event, Lorna will read excerpts from BARE, followed by a conversation about the themes of survival, identity, and the power of storytelling. There will also be an opportunity for a Q&A session and book signing.
As part of our commitment to community, we kindly ask attendees to bring a book of their choice to donate to someone currently experiencing homelessness. Your contribution will help spread the power of storytelling and support those in need.
