A free online pitching workshop by gal-dem and oestrogeneration for transfeminine writers of colour

About this event
As part of a collaboration between gal-dem and oestrogeneration exploring trans narratives on the theme of ‘legacy’, we are running an online pitching workshop for transfeminine writers of colour - hosted by gal-dem’s first person editor Katie Goh and oestrogeneration’s editor-in-chief June Bellebono.
The workshop will cover different types of articles, the writing process, how to develop your ideas, and what we look for in pitches. The aim is to use this workshop and space to share our knowledge and experiences, encouraging the creation of a new generation of trained trans women of colour writers. Following the workshop, participants will be encouraged to send over their pitch, with two being selected for paid publication on both platforms.
Join us on Wednesday 12 October, between 6 and 7.30pm UK time. The session will take place on Zoom with closed captioning, and will be protected by a random id and passcode -- attendees will receive the link to join an hour before the session starts. You are welcome to have your camera on or off, depending on what’s most comfortable for you. The wellbeing and safety of participants will be our key priority and we reserve the right to remove from the meeting anyone who we believe is putting that at risk.
Please contact info@oestrogeneration.org or editor@gal-dem.com for any additional questions or for any accessibility requirements.
