Calling built environment graduates and graduate managers! Please submit your expression of interest* for a place at one of our workshops.

Design Council is proud to be working with the Centre for Digital Built Britain (CDBB), a member of the Construction Innovation Hub, on a new project exploring the digital skills required across built environment professions.

The digital world is evolving quickly and recent graduates in the built environment sector need to develop a range of digital skills, knowledge and experience to support and deliver industry transformation.

The Graduate Digital Capabilities for Built Environment Professionals Project will identify and address the digital skills gap for recent graduates across the full range of built environment disciplines. We will be working with industry, professional institutions and academia to develop a graduate digital capabilities framework, to enable the sector to thrive in the digital age.

Starting this December, we will be running a number of workshops. We want to hear from recent graduates with around two years’ professional experience – and/or graduate line managers – who are working at the leading edge of digital approaches in the built environment, or who have an interest in developing digital skills in their work. Together we will explore and understand the work that you do, how this work is changing, and the types of digital skills and knowledge that you need to be able to adapt and thrive.
The workshops are an excellent opportunity for new professionals and also graduate managers working at the leading edge of digital approaches to help shape our future ways of working and to learn more about how others are using digital across the built environment. Participants will also benefit from networking and collaborating with other built environment professionals.

Wednesday 16 December: Engineering.
For those whose work relates to the application of maths, science and creativity to solve engineering problems (e.g. civil engineers, structural engineers, building services engineers, etc).

If you’re not a recent graduate with around two years’ professional experience or a graduate line manager, but you are still interested in being involved or learn more about the project, please sign up here to register your interest. We will have further workshops in the early 2021 for which we will be seeking participants.
