Crisis and The House of St Barnabas present: How to Fund a Housing Revolution?

About this event
Join us for our second-panel debate in our event series with Crisis, exploring the different facets of homelessness.
The lack of housing is one of the core challenges we are facing, both when it comes to solving homelessness and societal well-being. While the state is seen as the ultimate entity responsible for solving this crisis, innovation, new ideas and funding can come from both the private markets and research. Newly established approaches such as modular homes have only recently started to be rolled out but have not reached a significant scale yet. What impact does the current environment – cost of living crisis, inflation, funding slowdown - have on this specific issue?
The debate will be hosted by Sue Siddall, Crisis Advisor, NED and innovation for growth expert. And we are delighted to be joined by:
  • Amelie Busch: Investment Director at Big Society Capital leading new investments in social housing, impact venture, and social lending.
  • Daniel Mohamed: Founder of Venture Studio portfolio company Urban Intelligence. Using his lived experience of homelessness and background as a planner, Dan is transforming the way the public sector values land and development opportunities.
  • Matt Downie, MBE: Crisis chief executive and author of The plan to end homelessness
  • Stephen Kelly: Company builder and entrepreneur, serving Tech Nation as Chairperson & much more

The club operates a strict door policy. In order to attend, your name must be on the guest list to attend this event.
