What's the secret behind a successful podcast? Join presenter & producer Kate Whitaker in conversation with Assemblage to find out!

Join presenter and producer, Kate Whitaker, for an hour-long session on how to set up a successful podcast, in discussion with Assemblage founder Tascha von Uexkull. They will discuss how to find that next big idea to set your podcast apart from the rest in the exciting ever-growing podcasting industry. There’ll be plenty of practical advice, from technical set-ups, formats and editing. Plus, Kate explains how to find killer guests, how to market your podcast and how to tell a compelling narrative. Finally, there’ll be top tips on how to reach a global audience and how to get your podcast heard by the big names such as BBC Sounds and the British Podcast Awards. At the end of the session, there’ll be a chance to ask questions and chat about the exciting world of podcasting!

Speaker bio: Kate Whitaker is a London-based presenter and producer. Since being shortlisted for ‘Best Presenter’ at the NASTA awards by Fiona Bruce, she has pursued a varied portfolio of work. She is a resident presenter on Bloop Radio, London’s most prestigious electronic and house station. During lockdown, she produced and presented ‘Live in Lockdown’ for Youth Music, Tik Tok and Arts Council England. In October, she will be hosting the Youth Music Awards in partnership with BBC Radio 1, Spotify, YouTube and Hal Leonard Europe.

Kate's podcast bio: ‘Navigating Your Twenties’ is a comedy podcast about the mishaps and mind-boggles of adulthood, designed to point you in the wrong direction. With different guests each episode, no topic is off limits as Kate covers light-hearted subjects like sex and relationships aswell as more serious subjects like career and mental health.

After the success of season 1, the podcast has a 5-star rating and is now streamed in 42 countries and has been featured on BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio Lancashire respectively.
