Organised by Iconic Offices
Ronald Reagan once said: “Peace is not absence of conflict, it is the ability to handle conflict by peaceful means.” In Neuroscience, we learn that no two brains are alike, hence conflict is inevitable, and our brains are built by design to get us out of trouble by generating hormones fast.
Both, in the workplace or in our personal lives, we are easily triggered by others, and sometimes the level of threat or social pain experienced can become overwhelming. When we disagree with a friend, or argue with our partner, or even feel some tension around us at work, there are opportunities for escalation and we usually have different types of response to conflict with freeze, fight or flight.
You will probably see yourself (or the person triggered) becoming less willing to collaborate, you will tend to be more problem-focused and your wider perception of the situation will decrease. As we are still navigating, the impact of COVID 19 pandemic, between the virtual or return to work, and other heavy circumstances, we are frequently in situations prone to escalation. In this session, we will explore the main causes of conflict and how you can work with the different stages of conflict to learn how to have a useful discussion as a result of a disagreement. Discover new ways to de-escalate tensions, hear others and respond calmy.
This event is taking place live from Dublin, Ireland. Please calculate the time difference if joining from elsewhere.
This event is open to both our Iconic members and non-members.
