Byta.com Presents: #HowWeListen Live: In Conversation with Bruno Duque (Head of TuneCore Brazil & Latin America). Free sign up here. (pre-registration required)

What does it mean to be independent today? Byta's next guest is Bruno Duque, Head of TuneCore Brazil & Latin America, who arrives with a great deal of global music ecosystem insight. Particularly when it comes to working with independent artists.

Everyone attending this session will benefit greatly from Bruno’s deep industry knowledge and his drive to create opportunities for local artists. Bruno will discuss his holistic approach to bridging the gap between independent music and the entertainment industry in Brazil and Latin America. What can Bruno’s approach to the music industry teach us and what are the tools in his toolbox that he picked up from his years navigating the industry? How does this differ geographically in other markets? Have your notebook at the ready.

This is a new monthly online event that will be presented in two parts:

1. A Workshop: Tips & insights for tomorrow’s artists & music industry leaders with Byta founder, Marc Brown

2. An In-depth interview about bridging the gap between independent musicians and the music industry, with TuneCore’s Bruno Duque.

We’re also very proud to partner with PUC: Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro's business incubator, Instituto Genesis da PUC-Rio and Música & Negócios. - What you can do to make an impact & develop a long-term music career
- Insights into digital content distribution
- Tips and advice on a holistic approach to the music industry

Event Format

#HowWeListen Live (part 1):

The workshop will introduce industry insights that Marc has picked up from his work in A&R departments, running his own radio promotion company, plus years of experience managing artists and significant large scale projects. Some of the topics he will touch on include artists teams, timelines and connecting the web of the music industry. Plus, most importantly, tips on what you can do yourself to better increase the chances of your success.

#HowWeListen In Conversation (part 2):

Each event will feature an in-depth one-to-one conversation. This time the conversation will look into how best to cross pollinate artistic independence with the music industry with Marc’s guest, the head of TuneCore Brazil, Bruno Duque. This will be interesting. Marc has always been a strong advocate for the DIY (Do it Yourself) ethic when it comes to the music industry. A perfect follow up to the workshop in part 1. This will be an engaging conversation, with numerous approaches offered up on how best to maneuver one's way through the music ecosystem. Bruno remains driven to create opportunities for local artists with a unique approach which creates a bridge between independent music and the entertainment industry. Bring a notebook and pen.
