Innovation in Technology

From blockchain to the Internet of Things, and 5G to AI – new tech seems to be arriving every five minutes. So how do you separate the meaninful opportunities from the latest fad or gimmick if you’re not from a technology background?
In this evening panel discussion we'll discuss practical ways of understanding advances in tech and applying them to your own business or career. If you’re from the creative industries or elsewhere, and want ideas for how you take advantage of a rapidly changing world, then this event is for you.  Panellists:
Ellen Donnelly is Head of Entrepreneurial Investment at open innovation accelerator The Bakery. She is focused on finding and investing in entrepreneurs and studying their characteristics. She has been connecting corporates with entrepreneurial talent throughout her career and looks at startups through the lens of how they can collaborate with large businesses' innovation efforts.
Medy Ract is an Innovation Consultant at Capgemini Invent, where he helps FTSE 100 companies innovate and develop new business models, services, products and experiences to expand their business. Prior to that, he did a stint as Strategic Partnerships Lead at F6S, the largest network for the startup ecosystem. Medy has worked with reputable businesses and his work includes developing an innovation lab for a major FMCG company, building a beta business for a major retailer and designing a new service for a government organisation.
Host:
Alan Rutter is the founder of Fire Plus Algebra. He is a specialist in communicating complex subjects through data visualisation, writing and design. He teaches for General Assembly and runs in-house training for public sector client. He oversaw the iPad edition launches of Wired, GQ, Vanity Fair and Vogue in the UK, and has worked with Condé Nast International as product owner on a bespoke digital asset management system for their 11 global markets.
