We'd like to introduce our diverse panel of LGBTQIA+ people working in UX & Design and give them a safe and empowering space to discuss their experiences in their given fields in honour of International Pride Month. The first pride marches took place in June 1970, marking one year since the riots at Stonewall, and pride events have been growing in size- alongside other queer movements- ever since.

It's crucial that we recognise the queer voices within every industry and understand how to create an inclusive working environment that encompasses all members of the LGBTQIA+ community which allows them to grow, network and feel represented. It's important to recognise the negative correlation between the LGBTQIA+ community and management roles, it seems that gay men are the only queer people represented in these higher roles. We must also acknowledge the prejudices against non-binary people in regard to employment alongside the general sexism and transphobia that can take place within the workplace.

We'd like to open a wider discussion with our panellists to look at what we can and should be doing in order to create a more inclusive and diverse space. Happy International Pride Month!
