Farming our own regenerative cotton. Vanessa and Primrose of Bedstraw and Madder will be sharing their joy and passion for plant dyeing with you.
Vanessa founder of Papillon bleu has spent the last 15 years in sustainable fashion production and is passionate about natural fabrics. Primrose, a naturopath and founder of Primrose’s Kitchen believes the same philosophy we apply to our food should be applied to our clothes – our clothing should be organic and chemical free.
Most importantly they believe in change from the bottom up! Your underwear is your most intimate item of clothing and should be breathable and not contain any hidden nasties. Their combined passions for health and natural solutions for our wardrobe has led them to launch a plant dyed underwear brand this year. Their first line is made using Regenerative Organic Cotton they grew from seed.
In this workshop their focus will be on one of our oldest natural dyes, Indigo. There will be a short introduction to the history of plant dyeing and its importance as part of sustainable future for fashion.
Each person will receive a pair of organic cotton classic brief knickers in their size and then you’ll learn some tie dye techniques to use on your knickers before dyeing with indigo to create a unique pair of pants!
