Twisting and warping the lines between classical and pop, Co-Principal Percussionist Sam Walton curates a concert of music that blends genre, style and sound.
With selections from Mercury-Prize nominated electronic artist Anna Meredith and steel pan virtuoso Andy Aikho, an ensemble of LSO musicians will delve into music by composers with one foot in classical and the other in pop. We'll hear Max Richter's intense, swelling piece for strings On the Nature of Daylight - music that has captivated audiences in film and television - and Steve Reich's Radio Rewrite, a work that incorporates Radiohead's seminal songs Jigsaw Falling into Place and Everything in Its Right Place.
