We’re excited to welcome the team from The Modernist to the magCulture Shop this month to mark their 40th issue, for magCulture meets!
They'll be sharing the visual history of The Modernist, talking about the growth of the magazine, the launch of their Manchester gallery/shop (below), and the brand new 40th issue. Themed ‘Kudos’, the issue features contributions from the magazine’s friends and supporters. Each shares their favourite modernist icon.
Join us in person on Thursday 16 September to hear founding editor Eddy Readh, discussing the magazine and its story to date with Jeremy Leslie.
Ticketholders will also get a first taste of the magazine’s new beer, named ‘Feierabendbier’—German for ‘after work beer,’—plus a unique pin featuring the ‘40’ logo based on the Jock Kinnear and Margaret Calvert’s British roadsign system, itself a modernist icon.
