About this event
Create a patchwork star with Manimekala
Join Mekala, founder and creative director of ethical fashion brand Manimekala, for a hands-on textile upcycling workshop where you will learn how to create a pieced patchwork star.
You will be introduced to the history of patchworking, then will create your own star motif from fabric remnants. Once complete, add your handmade star to an existing garment to create a one-of-a-kind piece!
This workshop will last 1.5 hours and techniques taught will include patchwork design and hand-sewing. Materials and equipment will be provided, but feel free to bring a garment or accessory to upcycle e.g. denim jacket or tote bag. No experience necessary - complete beginners are welcome.
We look forward to seeing you there!
