Remi Rough is a street and gallery artist from South London, England. He makes work that deals with visual semantics, distilling fragments of the world around him into powerful abstract compositions. His pseudo-sculptural paintings and large-scale murals are instilled with a ‘street-wise energy and tension’ born from early experiences as a young graffiti writer, painting walls and trains across the world.
Our host for Meet The Artist is Hamish Jenkinson - Creative Director & Co-Founder, The Department. Hamish is the founder of The Old Vic Tunnels and was named a member of Time Out’s 100 club of creative Innovators. He is a curator and ardent investor in the Arts, where he is a specialist in directing large-scale performances. Hamish is also a Visiting Professor at Falmouth University and is highly involved in charity work, as both a Chairman of Free the Children UK and Ambassador of Prince’s Trust.
