Organised by Vagina Museum
Almost half of the world's population has one, yet vaginas and the rest of the gynaecological anatomy are still a taboo subject in many people's daily lives.
Like many subjects under-represented within society and education, more myths and legends exist in popular culture about all things “down there” than fact. This has led to unrealistic expectations of what we should expect from our bodies, what they should look like and our relationship with their functions.
Muff Busters: Vagina Myths and How To Fight Them highlights just a handful of the myths that circulate in popular culture, the internet and many other platforms about the gynaecological anatomy including society's ideals around cleanliness and appearance, periods, contraception and sex. Its aim is to give an introduction to how every individual and their body is unique and hopes to prove that myths and legends are for fairytales, not our bodies.
