To get to net zero and mitigate the effects of climate change, we need a global shift to low-carbon home heating alternatives, and fast.
In the UK 85% of homes are connected to the gas grid, but spiralling energy prices have put gas unreliability into sharp focus. The future of home heating could look very different.
So how can we get the country off of gas? What options are currently out there for consumers? And what might the energy systems of our future look like? Join energy expert Dr Jan Rosenow in conversation with Nesta’s Andy Regan on Thursday 8 September to find out.
Dr Rosenow will share his expert insights on how we can decarbonise homes, drawing from extensive experience in the energy sector, his research at the Environmental Change Institute and his role advising the House of Commons. We’ll be discussing the flexibility of our energy systems and alternative methods for better heating homes; from heat pumps, to retrofitting and hydrogen.
Why you should come
This event is for anyone interested in how we can quickly and effectively decarbonise homes, and how energy systems can and must adapt, with particular interest for policymakers and those working in the public and private housing sector.
