About this event
When we started out all we wanted to do was go inside the agencies we admired the most but unless you were hired it was almost impossible to get access. We were fascinated by their work, culture and people but their methods were guarded and their approach was top secret.
We are committed to shattering those barriers by sharing with you the processes used by freelancers, founders and teams. We care about sharing the story of people at all stages of their because we believe in elevating all voices, irrelevant of age, ability and background.
SPEAKERS
Each of our events feature two speakers including freelancers, founders and teams. We ask them to share their processes including the challenges they face, the methods they employ and the people they work with.
Oskar Walin
Graphic Designer and Muralist

Oskar Walin is a muralist and designer based in Manchester. He began creating large-scale work in his early–teens as a graffiti writer. Decades on, and this passion for producing public art has blossomed into a full-time creative career. Stylistically, his background in graffiti is blended with formal graphic design training, resulting in what Oskar would describe as graphic design unhindered by scale. Working collaboratively is also an important part of his practice, whether that be collaborating with other artists, or delivering mural workshops.

Creative Spark are a brand design studio based in Manchester and they have always taken a long view and understand the value in helping clients explore the true nature of the obstacles in their way and identifying the potential that lies beyond them. They are infinitely resourceful, responding quickly and intuitively, to addvalue and show you a new, better way through.
VENUE
Since 1993 Joshua Brookes has been bringing the world’s biggest artists to Manchester and in 2021 the venue underwent a full refurbishment signalling a new era for the city offering a wide-range of opportunities for its diverse demographic. We will be taking over their basement space and rethinking the role of design events to provide a safe space that unites communities, shares insight and brings together regional people.
