We welcome you into our chapel for a talk on Race and Religion on the 9th November.

About this event
Religion has a long, complicated, and interconnected relationship with the legacy of race and racism. This event will take a deep dive into the relationship between Christianity and black identity.

Religion is always informed by social contexts and social conditions. Hence, religion often functions as a mirror of society’s broader assumptions and our chapel series will begin to explore identity be it based on race, ethnicity, class, social status, nationality, religion, (dis)ability, gender, or sexuality.
Chine McDonald (Director of Theos and author of God is not a White Man)
Jarel Robinson-Brown (Priest and author of Black, Gay, British, Christian, Queer: The Church and The Famine of Grace)
Eve Parker (Director of Global Mission, USPG; and theological educator)
Chigor Chike (Vicar of Emmanuel Church Forest Gate and Chair of Anglican Minority Ethnic Network).
