The start of August marks LUGHNASADH, the first of three harvest festivals in the farming calendar. At this time of year the landscape turns gold marked with a TRACE of red poppies, signifying the sacrifice of the spirit of the fields so that we may eat bread.

To punctuate the Sarabande artists’ group show ‘SERVED’, Robert George Sanders has chosen to stage three performances amongst their contemporary’s works, incorporating collaboration with sound artists, spoken word, installation and makeup.

Robert George Sanders is a performance artist with a basis and background in fashion and styling. Sanders gets dressed in foraged materials, often in rural landscapes, and recreates these authentic moments with immersive experience to introduce the transformation to his audience. Sanders tells contemporary folk stories and fairy tales in a rite of self worship and reverence to intimate domestic rituals.
