Jump-start your passion for photography over six weeks. Learn how to make the most of your DSLR camera and discuss your developing portfolio with fellow photographers from across the world.

Welcome the V&A’s world-class photography collection into your home through this introductory online digital photography course. Through weekly practical tasks, personalised feedback and inspiring lectures, you will step out into the world equipped to take even better photos.

Students will join a weekly sharing and learning session. These small groups are staggered throughout the week to suit varying schedules and time zones. There is a choice of Saturday afternoons at 2pm, Thursday evenings at 6pm or book via this webpage to join in on Thursday mornings at 11am.

Through demos, tutorials and tasks, you will learn practical skills and hone your technique during the week.

Our community of international learners will come together once a week, at 2pm on Thursdays, for a Spotlight Session from a V&A expert, to get inspired by the vast range of photographic styles reflected across our world-leading collection.

Over six weeks participants will:
- Understand photographic principles and techniques including composition, shutter speed, ISO and controlling light
- Develop their photographic tastes, gain confidence talking about and referencing photography
- Get to grips with basic photo editing and file management using Adobe Photoshop and Bridge

Please note: this six week course is run over seven weeks, there is a course break and no Spotlight Session lecture or tutorial session on 21st October
