Organised by Whitechapel Gallery

Join Yulin Huang, Whitechapel Gallery’s current Young Writer in Residence, and fine artist Natasha Brown for an evening in the spirit of almost-Christmas.
You’re invited to this fun, informal, and possibly existential night of unwrapping mysterious objects and collective experiences. Through a series of writing and discussion activities, we will reflect and write together about the experience of being an emerging artist.
Yulin will also be giving a special reading of ‘I Am (not in my bed)’, her residency submission in response to The London Open 2022 – a confession to what it feels like to exist as a young emerging artist in London, right now.
No prior experience in writing is necessary, this workshop is best suited to those who identify as a young creative or emerging artist, as well as those who are interested in joining the conversation.
This is a special edition of our Young Creatives Nights to mark the culmination of Yulin’s residency at Whitechapel Gallery. Our Young Creatives Nights are informal evenings for early career creatives aged 21-28 to meet, share practice, and explore alongside other artists. We welcome attendees aged 18+ for this special edition.
