TPF TALKS: A space for the next gen of photographers to learn, collaborate & ask questions.

The Photography Foundation was created to provide pathways to professional photography for less advantaged young adults in London by offering education, practical experience, and routes to a career in the creative industries.

TPF TALKS is a platform that amplifies under-represented voices to encourage the next generation of photographers and creatives to be part of the conversation, build their networks, and create space for themselves in the industry.

Each month, we will amplify the voice of a different under-represented group and have:

  • talks from photographers focusing on representation - sharing their work and journey into photography
  • a chance to speak to current and past trainees about the Foundation Programme and register your interest in the programme
  • interactive workshops such as zine-making
  • tour of our studio
  • drinks, snacks and table-tennis, because why not!

As our launch of TPF TALKS missed this year’s International Women’s Day, we will have a belated celebration and use July’s event to centre the voices of women in photography.

Speakers:

Holly Falconer is a London-based photographer, hailing originally from the west country. Her work focuses on capturing groups and subcultures in the UK with a particular interest in the queer community. Holly’s photography has been widely exhibited and she’s worked for clients such as the BBC, i-D and Channel 4.

Chantel King is a London based beauty and fashion photographer who creates visual stories that have a cinematic edge. As a black female photographer, she is aware of the lack of people like her in front of and behind the camera and wants her portfolio to reflect everyone in society.

We want this to be a space for young people to ask questions, network, and support each other to grow in the industry. This event is aimed at 18-25 year old's living in London from an underrepresented background.
