The Photography Foundation was created to provide pathways to professional photography for less advantaged young adults in London by offering education, practical experience, and routes to a career in the creative industries.
TPF TALKS is a platform that amplifies under-represented voices to encourage the next generation of photographers and creatives to be part of the conversation, build their networks, and create space for themselves in the industry.
Each month, we will amplify the voice of a different under-represented group and have:
- Photographers talking about their work and sharing their journey into photography, focusing on representation
- Networking with other photographers and creatives
- An opportunity to speak to current and past trainees about our Training Programme, and register your interest if you’re considering applying
- A chance to look around our studio and space
- Drinks and table-tennis, because why not!
We want this to be a space for young people to ask questions, network, and support each other to grow in the industry.
With movements such as Movember encouraging men to talk about their physical and mental health, we want to use this event to spotlight male photographers who centre men’s vulnerability and deconstruct toxic masculinity.
For this event, we're delighted to have Kenneth Lam speaking. Lam is a photographer & writer based in London and Hong Kong. He has worked with clients such as The Sunday Times, Wieden + Kennedy, Antenne Books, and GQ. As well as working with commercial clients his personal work and writing have explored topics close to home, often stemming from autobiographical experiences. Masculinity, heritage and identity are all explored in his personal work.
This event is aimed at 18-25 year old's living in London from an underrepresented background.
