Introduction Hunt & Darton

  • Playful artist duo Hunt and Darton will be your hosts for the night, introducing artists across the evening as they record from Tate Modern.

Art Chat: Guerrilla Girls & Bishi

  • Artist and musician Bishi speak to members of The Guerilla Girls, an anonymous group of feminist activist artists who strive for an intersectional feminism that fights discrimination in the art world.
  • They chat through their global interventions and upcoming book The Art of Behaving Badly.

Workshop: Collection crEATions with Frances Quinn

  • Join artist and Great British Bake Off winner Frances Quinn for a delicious delve into Tate Modern’s collection. She will talk through her creative baking process and teach some baking basics inspired by Monet’s Water-Lilies.

Art Chat: Billie Zangewa & Miquita Oliver

  • Presenter Miquita Oliver speaks to Johannesburg based artist Billie Zangewa. They will be talking about what inspires and influences Zangewa’s work including her experiences of motherhood and focus on what she calls ‘daily feminism’.

Workshop: Makeup Experiments with Wendy Asumadu (aka WENDYSWORLDXOX)

  • Use your face as a canvas and find out how to create an experimental and expressive makeup look inspired by Lubaina Himid’s paintings with London based makeup artist, Wendy Asumadu.

Film: León Cristóbal & Joaquín Cociña’s The Andes [Los Andes] 4 min, 2012

  • Chilean artists Cristóbal León and Joaquín Cociña are known for their stop-motion films that bring spectacular paper and masking tape sculptures to life. The Andes, a recent addition to Tate’s collection, presents a shape-shifting spirit that moves through the walls of a home office, producing sinister symbols, plants and human forms. The film is from their series Third World, which creates new mythologies constructed from the legacies of colonialism, fascism, and mysticism in Latin America, and Chile in particular.
  • The film is introduced by the artists and Michael Wellen, Curator of International Art at Tate.

Yoga: Sculptural Yoga with Gerrard Martin

  • End your evening with a calming guided yoga session from Gerrard Martin, inspired by and set against a backdrop of sculptural works at Tate Modern. No prior experience needed, comfy clothing recommended.

Music Programmed by Global Roots: Norman Jay & Hodan Styrene in Tate Modern’s Tanks

  • Global Roots have programmed a unique set inspired by Tate Modern’s display Artist and Society, filmed in Tate Modern’s iconic tanks and directed by Thristian. Enjoy DJ sets from Norman Jay MBE and Hodan Styrene accompanied by visuals exploring the work of Lorna Simpson, Yinka Shonibare, David Goldblatt and artworks featured in Artist and Society.
