Stream 1: Artist talks, workshops and film

Introduction from Zezi Ifore

  • Artist and broadcaster Zezi Ifore will be your host for the night. She’ll introduce artists across the evening as she records from Tate Modern and the Andy Warhol exhibition.

Talk Art: Russell Tovey, Robert Diament and Laurie Anderson

  • Actor Russell Tovey and gallerist Robert Diament, hosts of the popular Talk Art podcast, speak to pioneering avant-garde artist Laurie Anderson. They will be talking about the time Anderson spent with Andy Warhol and her artistic collaborations, New York life in the 1970s and why she thinks we’re all currently living in ‘Andy’s world’.

Workshop: Warhol Reimagined Illustration with Kazvare Made It

  • Illustrator Kazvare Made It has reimagined Warhol as the fictitious character Ade Warhol. Ade mirrors Andy’s journey; both from working class immigrant families seeking to create art to reflect our time.
  • Be inspired to draw, colour and decorate your own Ade Warhol designs using our unique downloadable PDF, designed by Kazvare Made It. Use a mix of materials you might have to hand, such as pencils, pens, paint and pastels.

Talk: Olivia Laing and Kate Hutchinson

  • Olivia Laing, writer of The Lonely City, joins journalist, podcaster and DJ Kate Hutchinson to chat about Warhol’s complex relationship with loneliness.
  • Hear Laing’s thoughts on how technology fuelled Warhol’s sociability, his fascination with celebrating the everyday and her own experiences exploring Warhol’s personal memorabilia in Pittsburgh.

Spoken Word: Kai-Isaiah Jamal

  • Poet and performer Kai-Isaiah Jamal often focuses on dialogue that is left unspoken. Here they present an original and newly-imagined observation of Warhol’s studio and respond to his Ladies and Gentlemen series currently on display at Tate Modern.

Digital Display: Hungama Screen Tests

  • Fashion and art curator Ryan Lanji and artist Vivek Vadoliya revisit and celebrate Warhol’s Screen Tests in this unique digital display, turning the lens on to the members of Hungama, East London's Queer Bollywood Hip Hop Night.
  • Inspired by the iconic screen tests and the spirit of Studio 54’s party scene, they celebrates this budding Queer South Asian creative movement, family and Warhol’s legacy on pop culture.

Video: Happy Birthday, Marsha!

  • Happy Birthday, Marsha! is a film about iconic transgender artist and activist, Marsha ‘Pay it No Mind’ Johnson. It tells the story of her life in the hours before the 1969 Stonewall uprising in New York City. Written and directed by Tourmaline and Sasha Wortzel.
