To round-up our current online series, Upgrade Yourself: Inspiration, we dial in with two brilliant Somerset House Residents, award-winning, genre-crossing composer, and producer Anna Meredith and multi award winning composer, sound designer, artist and audio specialist, Nick Ryan.
In this Inspiration session, Anna and Nick join us from their individual studios, where they will be introducing themselves, chatting about their practices, and taking audience questions via our host Okocha Obasi, a Somerset House Future Producer.
Anna and Nick will share some of their career journeys to date, (as we know, no two routes are the same), offering insight and advice that may inspire some of your own processes and creative ideas. Anna has recently created the interactive artwork and musical composition ‘Bumps Per Minute’ with Nick’s technical/specialist input, featuring in our summer courtyard spectacular Dodge: dodgems with a difference, with bold installations from acclaimed artists.
In this session, Anna and Nick will be covering topics around:
- Their individual journeys into the music, sound, and wider creative industries
- A technical demonstration of each artist’s work/desk or studio space (a little bit behind the scenes)
- Approaching collaboration when working with other creatives
- Networking and finding your creative peers
