About the opportunity
Our Creative and Cultural Opportunities Programme (C&COP) is back in 2023 for a special Young V&A focus. Created as an intensive, industry-led employability programme by the team behind Good Growth Hub, in partnership with Young V&A, this 1-week Young V&A training course will introduce East Londoners aged 18-30 to everything you need to know about working Front of House (FoH) in museums and landing your next role.
In anticipation of the opening of the revamped Young V&A in its home in Bethnal Green this summer 2023, the museum will recruit its full team of Front of House Assistants, who will act as the essential public-facing division of the cultural centre. With the local community at its heart, the museum is looking for fellow local young people to join its team and contribute to its future impact.
C&COP will introduce you to local creative employers to explore what goes on behind the scenes, discover hidden job roles and the skills required to access them. Get a strong foundation in shaping your narrative to engage employers and businesses. Access regular 1-2-1 check ins with Good Growth Hub staff, live drop-ins with creative employers for advice and guidance from people working in the field.
Over one week, you'll experience an engaging curriculum taking place Monday – Friday at the Good Growth Hub, alongside cultural site visits around town, plus a follow-up training day held wc/ 6th February 2023. All participants who complete the 6-day programme and submit an official application for the Front of House Assistant role with Young V&A will be guaranteed an interview.
Who is it for:
- 18 – 30 years old
- Live and went to school in the borough of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets or Waltham Forest
- Interested in applying for the Young V&A’s Front of House Assistant roles, or want to learn more about these roles
You must be available for the full duration of the programme: Monday 23 – Friday 27 January 2023 (approx 10am - 5pm each day), plus one follow-up session wc/ 6 February.
