An Account Director is expected to work in partnership with the team to further this mission through their client accounts, to seek opportunities to add value to their clients and be seen as a true partner to them on this journey

An Account Director is expected to develop their understanding of how to become a consultant to their assigned accounts, to seek opportunities to further the company’s purpose and understand and/or contribute to all aspects of the debate.

This role is for someone who is embedded in the marketing and advertising industry, ideally someone who is already an account director at an agency.


Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Client relationships
• Point of contact for the client, alongside the Consultant working on the projects

• Build, maintain and grow good client relationships, deliver new business and growth opportunities on the accounts
• Participate actively in client calls and run and control client meetings e.g. take a central role in discussions

• Meet regularly with client teams to plan and progress account activity
• Analyse clients’ DEI plans and advise accordingly on ways to improve
• Make clients aware of the services Creative Equals offers
• Highlight opportunities for the client to improve or excel in their DEI vision, creating business development and ultimately securing future work
• Have a thorough understanding of Creative Equals products, to upsell and cross-sell to clients
• Represent the Creative Equals brand
• Fully understand the client’s needs and requirements
• Agree weekly/bi-weekly cadence for keeping clients up to date and consistently achieve those targets
• Document and build an understanding of your client accounts’ goals in this space and a key stakeholder map
• Put the client first, take responsibility and ownership of client relationship information and documentation to ensure streamlined continuity of service in your absence
• Work in partnership with the sales team to transition new clients, assigned to you, from the sales process into your account portfolio
• Prioritise client work and relationships within your portfolio to ensure all deadlines are met and resource or timeline challenges are raised early

Ensure work is of excellent quality and to the client brief

The work
• Create and input into briefs, feeding in research/account / DEI knowledge
• Brief teams in a simple, concise, yet inspiring manner, ensuring, at all times, that they are fully aware of the client’s requirements
• Ensure that the output matches the client’s brief and Creative Equals standards
• Present and sell Creative Equals products to clients on accounts that you are managing on a day to-day basis

Delivery
• Own responsibility for ensuring end to end delivery of any client account projects
• Demonstrate organisational and time management skills to effectively manage project/product requirements
• Ensure that both internal and external stakeholders involved in projects are informed of all developments, including time, budget and delivery issues, at every stage of the process
• Create, oversee and manage budgets for clients, and Creative Equals
• Create, oversee and manage SOWs for clients and internal teams
• Create, oversee and manage project plans for clients and internal tracking
• Brief in resource requirements to Operations Team
• Ensure team members are aware of all critical client deadlines to enable them to support you in prioritising work
• Take client briefs and write proposals for assigned projects and draft SOWs/project plans/budgets
• Take ownership of all accounts within your portfolio, referring upwards when necessary / appropriate
• Brief appropriate Creative Equal teams / team members on assigned projects
• Ensure/oversee that Contact Reports (if required) are produced in a timely and efficient manner
• Manage/oversee and update project tracking tools (e.g. progress reports, budget trackers, resourcing tools) on a daily basis
• Review schedules for consultants, monitor progress of projects against timelines and effect timely delivery
• Identify opportunities to improve agency process and optimise profitability
• Lead and inspire other members of the team
• Report key financial information to the senior leadership team
• Lead and conduct inclusive communications reviews on projects


People
• Demonstrate a passion for DEI
• Foster good relationships with all internal departments and cross-functional teams
• Actively contribute to the shared vision of a strong internal culture in line with the Creative Equals’ values
• Encourage teamwork and good communication
• Assist with the coaching and development of more junior members of the team for example, Programme Managers and Programme Execs
• Proactively support your manager, suggesting new ideas and questioning thinking where appropriate
• Refer to senior team members for advice and support
• Support and encourage other members of the team, keeping a positive attitude

• Ensure new members of the team are welcomed and become part of the family

Business Growth
• Recognise that Creative Equals is growing at pace and requires a roll up your sleeves attitude, seek opportunities to step in and make a difference to the evolving shape of the business in line with the vision, mission, values and strategy
• Lead and/or actively participate in assigned ‘special projects’ designed to further Creative Equals as a business
• Take opportunities to participate in ‘special projects’ to develop business acumen, leadership skills, product portfolio awareness, understanding of thought leadership in the DEI space, soft skills, client facing skills and internal cultural development
• Develop an understanding of the broader client & prospect landscape and how business operates within the agency, branding and marketing space
