Job purpose:
The Account Director, Paid Social has direct responsibility for the management and output of the Dyson paid social team of 11 team members based in Mindshare WW London activating across 14 EU markets. Through their strong experience within paid social planning, buying, strategy and relationships with all key stakeholders (suppliers, client teams, wider agency teams, channel leads), they ensure the maintenance of all required processes and paid social excellence while working with the Business Director, paid social to develop the product and profile of Mindshare WW Paid Social.

Mindshare FAST (Future Adaptive Specialist Team) is a digital division within Mindshare of integrated performance specialist, managing Programmatic, Paid Search, Paid Social and SEO for our global clients.  The Paid Social and Programmatic channels are combined to form one team know as Audience. Whilst these are combined, we maintain 2 individual specialist teams that are unified through their vision, operations, and team development.  The Mindshare FAST Paid Social team are responsible for planning, buying and managing Paid Social campaigns as well as multi market coordination for complex global clients within the retail, FMCG, automotive, finance and technology industries.
Our portfolio of Paid Social clients includes, Unilever, Dyson, General Mills, Volvo and more… We are thinkers and doers, relentless in the pursuit of success for our clients. We do this by continually seeking and finding the perfect connection between their products and potential customers through Social platforms.
Reporting Structure:
The candidate will ultimately report to the Partner, Audiences (Programmatic and paid social).  For personal development and day to day management they will report into the Business Director, Paid Social.  Working within the Paid Social team they will be integral to cross channel knowledge sharing and contributing to channel integration across FAST.
Key skills & knowledge:
The ideal candidate will be expected to use their own initiative in setting processes and expectations for the Worldwide Paid Social team. You will be expected to lead by example, growing the media investment of Dyson paid social, along with support with developing the department’s client base via new wins, engagement renewals and upselling new services.
  • Comprehensive Paid Social experience, ideally to have experience of managing global clients
  • Understanding of how to execute Paid Social campaigns across the global platforms Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
  • Experience defining and putting into action a Paid Social strategy as part of the client’s overall strategy especially for large Brand campaigns.
  • Experience using the native Paid Social platforms for campaign management, reporting and insight
  • Experience working with Facebook Marketing partners to determine the value they can bring to an agency and a client
  • Knowledgeable on the business opportunities through Snap and Pinterest
  • Able to identify and develop business opportunities
  • An understanding of Paid Social and digital tracking and measurement capabilities
  • An understanding of how Paid Social can integrate with other digital and offline channels
  • Desire to be involved in an integrated strategic role
  • Experience working with client leadership and planning teams

Principal responsibilities:
An Expert and thought leader in Paid Social:
  • Be an expert in Paid Social and keep up to date with recent industry developments
  • Become an expert in all Paid Social services offered by Mindshare Worldwide, ensuring outstanding client service and advancement of the group
  • Be a trusted senior advisor over existing and future Paid Social engagements for internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrating excellent Account Management and Client Servicing:
  • Take responsibility for the operations of your team managing your client portfolio
  • Be the central client contact for your client portfolio, dealing at Director level and above with senior management within the client and Mindshare organization
  • Apply best practice rigor to the way the team operates and manages the execution of Paid Social campaigns
  • Be forward thinking and innovative in the development of Paid Social accounts and business opportunities, always thinking of additional or new services we can offer our clients
  • Attend all important internal and external client Paid Social meetings to present, train and provide outstanding levels of client service in a proactive manner
Continuing to develop and lead our Paid Social Team:
  • Be commercially minded, ensuring effective management of available resources and be aware of all scopes of work for your client portfolio
  • Take responsibility for your direct reports development and career progression within the agency
  • Review work quality of the team and take appropriate actions and or training to improve quality levels
  • Surfacing the best work within the team and promoting this internally and externally
  • Contribute to the wider Audience team to develop a market leading product and workplace
Growing our product and business:
  • Contribute to and lead workstreams that bring to life the FAST Paid Social vision
  • Contribute to raising the profile of FAST Paid Social through training, thought leadership, awards, case studies and attending key events
  • Foster a spirit of collaboration and integration with all Mindshare teams
  • Contribute to pitch team work and initiate central Paid Social projects where clear business and profitability benefits can be seen
  • Up sell additional FAST services and expand Paid Social spends for existing client base
Performance measures:
The Paid Social Account Director will be measured through four key factors:
