The Role
Are you an arts enthusiast? Interested in all art forms (film, design, photography etc)? Passionate about content creation and have ideas you want to execute?
We're looking for an assistant Arts & Culture editor to curate and produce arts & culture content across all our media formats (video, editorial, podcasts, events). The candidate will be responsible for leading the direction of GUAP’s art's & culture section. Focusing on video the assistant Arts & Culture editor must have a keen interest in visual storytelling.
Responsibilities include conducting interviews/features with underground filmmakers, photographers and more, daily coverage of things happening in the arts & culture space, helping to create magazine etc.
This role is very flexible and is mostly remote but will require candidate to work in our office once a week.

GUAP is a youth-led new media platform dedicated to discovering, showcasing and nurturing diverse emerging creatives.
We platform a generation of young, grassroots roots creatives in music, fashion, arts & culture, through an innovative mixture of platforms including our magazine (the world’s first video magazine), a variety of original content (video, articles, podcasts, etc) & events.
Our mission is to be a global voice for underrepresented creatives - documenting creative communities worldwide and providing authentic storytelling, opportunities and creative spaces for our community.

  • Leading the direction for GUAP’s arts & culture section across video,print & online.
  • Working with team to produce arts & culture based content in video format e.g interviews, short films, documentaries.
  • Writing features/articles on things happening in the arts and culture space
  • Attending exhibitions/events and conducting reviews
  • Handling all submissions
  • Organising and conducting interviews with creatives and entrepreneurs
  • Involved with organising GUAP’S arts and culture events
