The Opportunity
This role is a great opportunity for a bright, self-starting and teachable candidate to develop your career in finance. You will be a crucial & active member of the WAS finance team as this role involves dealing with the Client Teams everyday, as well as being deeply embedded within the Finance team, making this role a fantastic opportunity for the right individual. This role will fully immerse you into the world of finance in a fast-moving industry, where you will be tasked to complete your day-to-day activities while putting your problem-solving abilities and innovation capabilities to the test.
Being highly organised, having a strong attention to detail, a problem solving attitude and a warm personality are the keys to achieving success in this role. We see this role as a key team hire, being a key contact for Client Services. Our aim is that this person builds their career at WAS, adopting line management responsibilities and being a mentor for junior members of the team.
What You’ll Have Delivered Elsewhere
  • Responsible for preparing and analysing monthly revenue postings and supporting documents efficiently and independently, without the need for issue escalation.
  • Manages Client Forecast meetings with Client Services to ensure accurate revenue forecasting.
  • Performs reconciliations of fees and job costs.
  • Oversees and controls accrued, deferred, and debtors management (TWC) with Client Teams, ensuring effective cash flow management.
  • Assists Finance Managers in preparing forecasts, budgets, and KPI analysis.
  • Serves as a point of contact for external auditors.
  • Compiles analysis reports for Client Teams and Heads of Departments.
  • Supervises the Senior Accounts Assistant in tasks related to analysis, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensures proper setup of clients and jobs to align with reporting requirements.
What Else Are We Looking For?
  • Demonstrates strong MS Excel and Google Sheets skills.
  • Experience in managing AP and AR.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Media and Advertising Revenue Recognition principles.
  • Contributes new ideas and suggestions internally that are often adopted and implemented.
  • Provides evidence of minimal need for clients or stakeholders to escalate issues or seek additional input from colleagues.
