The penguin.co.uk editorial team is looking to appoint an Associate Editor on a 12-month FTC to cover a period of maternity leave.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving editorial excellence across the website with a particular focus on commissioning and editing contributions from authors and other Penguin stakeholders.
Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:
Commission, edit and manage contributions from PHR publishing houses, including author interviews, articles and marketing pages
Line manage Senior Content Producer and Content Producer Children's in ensuring key areas of website, including Puffin and Ladybird, are up to date
Work with design team on art concepts, video and photography to support editorial on penguin.co.uk
Be point of contact for publishing houses and take lead role in editorial planning around key releases
Manage article builds and assets to ensure smooth workflow
Advocate for penguin.co.uk to wider business, including divisions and key stakeholders
Write and edit regular content for penguin.co.uk
Drive key editorial strategies in all areas
Forge closer ties with Audience Insight and Analytics to instil a data, insight and audience driven approach to all activity within editorial team

Relevant experience managing teams of editors and writers
Significant experience commissioning features of a professional quality
Impeccable stakeholder management and communications skills
Excellent writing and editing skills
Good knowledge of SEO, product design and website development
A strong knowledge of and passion for books and publishing
