In a nutshell
You will be working in one of the fastest growing and dynamic areas of the Sainsbury’s business, supporting us in driving significant profit growth from Nectar360’s loyalty, data, insights, and retail media offering.
You will be responsible for creating and leading our B2B marketing strategy and resulting communications to our B2B audience.  You will deliver against the B2B marketing strategy, bringing your own style, expertise and ideas to the role in order to deliver our objectives and ambitious growth aspirations. This includes forming our B2B strategy, communicating to our key audiences internally and externally, and developing relevant media collateral across all our channels N360.  This role is key to supporting the execution of our growth initiatives and building our reputation both internally and externally.
This role requires the development of strong relationships across a large network including Nectar360’s leadership team, the wider Sainsbury’s business and with external agency partners. You will have a proven record of exceling at managing stakeholders in multiple organisations.
Reporting to the Director of Operations of Nectar360, will lead the B2B marketing strategy implementation of the 200+ Nectar360 colleagues and the wider Operations team of 60+.
What you need to do
  • You will play a key role in leading, implementing and promoting our transformative thinking & strategy across our 4 strategic priorities – (1) grow the Nectar coalition (2) develop & scale our Retail Media offering (3) win in data and insight & (4) digitise in-store media.
  • Create and execute effective marketing strategies demonstrating a thorough understanding of the business, market and its challenges
  • Understand our strategic brand positioning and drive the scoping and implementation of the B2B communication programmes to successfully deliver against KPIs.
  • You will handle marketing efforts for brand awareness generating support to increase the level of understanding of Nectar360’s work internally and externally
  • Liaise with all Nectar360 team and beyond to ensure good coverage of our B2B activity and to enhance the awareness of our services to help generate demand
  • Contribute to the creation of the go-to-market and product marketing strategies for B2B technologies
  • Elevate Nectar360 presence by creating relevant and timely client events, webinars, newsletters, and seasonal insight reviews ensuring it is kept up-to-date and relevant for our target audiences
  • Work very closely with our agency (social, website, PR) teams to brief and develop media content for B2B audience and execute plans across all channels including web site development and content curation/creation, and sales collateral.
  • Create a calendar of opportunities at conferences (presence and speaking opportunities, both UK and international) and award entries, ensuring timely submission and relevant sign off take place and ensure we deliver on the follow up
  • Ensure all activity is delivered accurately, on time, on budget, and aligns with key events in accordance with Nectar360 brand guidelines.
  • Create and put into practice a plan for measuring and reporting on B2B marketing activities
  • Manage our annual client survey, including collating and sharing results.
  • Act on own initiative to monitor, evaluate and report on competitors’ industry marketing activity
  • Required to be involved with general marketing activities on an ad hoc basis, including attending events
  • Manage marketing budgets, working in line with our financial reporting processes.
What you need to know and show
  • Ideally have +3 years experience in a B2B data-driven and/or digital marketing role or extensive relevant, practical experience
  • Strategic marketeer with a strong track record of successfully leading and delivering B2B marketing strategy and communications in a large matrix organisation with multiple stakeholders on time and within budget
  • Creative thinker able to bring new and innovative ideas that will capture the attention of our target audiences
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical, interpersonal, and influencing skills to gain buy-in at the highest levels, internally and externally (up to board level at clients/agencies).
  • Independence of thought to maximise opportunities, with the confidence to experiment and act on opportunities with only broad guidance.
  • Understanding of how your role and team fits into the bigger Sainsbury’s business picture and the interdependencies.
  • Awareness of your impact on others and commitment to ongoing personal development.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint
