THE ROLE
Reporting to a Senior Business Development Manager, the Business Development Manager is a key figure in the relationships we have with our current and incoming boutiques and brands partners. The Business Development team builds and nurtures relationships with luxury boutiques & brands in Fashion, Jewellery & Watches, Kids, Homeware, Eyewear, Vintage selling via the different channels that the Farfetch Platform offers. In collaboration with the rest of the team, you will be responsible for the design and execution of the BD strategy to sign and onboard new leading luxury multibrand boutiques onto the Farfetch marketplace. You will represent Farfetch externally, be the boutiques’ ambassador internally and be recognised as an expert outside the company.
Utilise your established relationships with high-end fashion boutiques in Europe (especially Germany, UK, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Eastern Europe) to introduce them to the Farfetch concept, maximise its potential and keep the existing boutiques network engaged to our vision. The success of Farfetch.com is guided by the relationships with our partners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • New business- Leverage existing relationships and prospect to source and pitch new luxury multibrand boutiques in line with Farfetch supply strategy
  • Be an expert on Farfetch service offering and its economics to promote its understanding with new partners and negotiate long-term mutually beneficial partnerships
  • In collaboration with the Legal team, negotiate and sign agreements with new identified luxury multibrand boutiques
  • In collaboration with with the Partners Implementation team, onboard new identified luxury multibrand boutiques
  • Existing network- Be the key point of contact for any contractual conversations included but not limited to agreement renewals, terms renegotiations, agreement evolutions.
  • In collaboration with the Account Management team, promote company initiatives and new commercial opportunities to our boutique partners, in particular but not limited to any changes to contractual relationships.
  • In collaboration with the Account Management team, maintain and facilitate on-going relationships with boutique partners and identify new business opportunities resulting in growth in revenue or high quality supply for Farfetch Marketplace.
  • Planning & strategic monitoring
  • Collaborate with the rest of the BD team and the broader Commercial department to build the pipeline, establish forecasts and deliver on them
  • Understand and monitor the industry and the territory specificities by regularly speaking to existing and prospect boutiques and/or other industry stakeholders.
  • Anticipate industry challenges and propose solutions, plan activities on a short-medium term basis and contribute to budget forecasting.
  • Travel, when needed, to boutiques locations, Fashion Weeks when necessary and to our international offices
WHO YOU ARE
  • Experience in a Sales / Business development role setting and delivering against ambitious targets.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of the luxury fashion industry and market and ideally have experience in designer wholesale or designer showroom.
  • You have experience in developing and nurturing relationships with customers and have an excellent understanding of the specific rules of engagement of the luxury industry.
  • Existing relationships with specialty stores/fashion boutiques in Europe (especially Germany, UK, Scandinavia, Netherlands, Eastern Europe) is preferred.
  • You demonstrate excellent analytical skills
  • You are capable to anticipate complex situations impacting a broad business area, and solve them
  • You will inspire and positively influence teams and peers acting as a role-model for them
  • Excellent organisation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of MS Excel (can perform complex functions), Google Slide (can create impactful presentations, both written and verbal).
  • Professional, articulate, self-motivated, ability to multi-task
  • Knowledge of a foreign language is a plus.
