The role straddles two of the most important and exciting clients within dentsu X global: Jaguar Land Rover and Galderma.
Jaguar Land Rover was won by Dentsu in April 2018. Encompassing two of the world’s most desirable high-end auto brands Dentsu is responsible for media in over 25 markets across the world. Representing design and engineering excellence in the auto category, JLR is renowned for category defining luxury models such as Range Rover, high performance sports cars such as the Jaguar F Type, the all-electric Jaguar I Pace which won an unprecedented treble at the 2019 World Car of the Year, and most recently the highly anticipated new Land Rover Defender in 2020.
Galderma is a recent global account win. It is a new company formed from the sales of Nestlé Skin Care in 2019 to a private equity conglomerate. Dentsu’s scope encompasses 22+ markets with additional countries and brands to be included from 2021. The client has ambitious growth targets and is targeting an IPO in 3 years’ time. Whilst their brands are established and the budgets defined, Galderma are effectively a start-up. We are in the rare position of being able to establish best practice across all aspects of a client – agency global relationship, in the spirit of a true partnership.
The role is to act as a number 2 to the Global Client Lead across these two exciting and challenging accounts; working with global clients and dentsu colleagues and to create growth in both client’s and agency’s businesses.
Responsibilities include Global and multi-market account management, definition and communication of best practice, understanding of and alignment to media investment targets and contracted services, and to provide leadership and excellence across the accounts, and build strong relationships and trust with the global client teams and with the dentsu X network around the world.
The individual will also work overseeing the output of the individual markets to ensure we deliver a consistently high level of client expertise both at Global and Local level.
Client Management
  • Forge strong relationships with global clients, understanding the key issues facing their business.
  • Being vocal and collaborative with clients (having an informed opinion), driving thought pieces on the changing landscape and the role of dentsu X within an integrated communication mix.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret data to frame insights/audience behaviour so to shape media planning and share thinking with local markets.
  • Leading the development of media recommendations, plan rationale, presentations, post campaign analysis.
  • Maintain a collaborative and strong relationship with all partners.  Develop proactive new scope opportunities; delivering to agreed financial/business goals.
  • Work with the local markets to raise the level of expertise.
  • Ensure work delivered to client is of highest standard; review all key documents and presentations prior to distribution (particularly those documents produced by junior team members)
Team Management
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and leadership in a matrixial environment.
  • Support with new business pitches if required.
  • Responsible for expanding the knowledge base across the team
  • Good understanding of current Marketing technologies and their applications to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Relentless focus on business outcome, with good analytical skills.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in marketing/new business and/or client management (UK or international).
  • Strong commercial edge.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to develop strategic plans/ideas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • An understanding of creative and ‘packaging’ of ideas/presentations.
