Buyer - Woven Tops (Womenswear) - ASOS DESIGN
Entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged at ASOS, with each team working autonomously, taking ownership of their area. You will be responsible for the delivery of sales and profit targets in order to execute a well-conceived product strategy. You will be collaborative, organised, and strategic with your finger on the pulse of fashion always looking to push the department forward.
What you'll be doing...
With experience in product development, you will deliver the business and department strategy for being first for fashion and trend through:
  • Building and maintaining a womenswear Woven Tops offer targeted to the ASOS consumer
  • Managing and training junior members of the team including Assistant Buyers and Buyers Administrators
  • Sourcing and delivering suitable product to deliver and maximise sales and profit plans, and in turn create a consistently high customer experience
  • Regularly reviewing and evolving the product offer
  • Building relationships with key suppliers and negotiating the best deal on product
  • Developing specific products and ranges to complete the category offer
  • Analysing departmental performance and effective reactions to the information gathered, maximising commercial opportunities
  • Liaising with other departments in the business to drive the proposition
  • Keeping up to date with market competitor activity, and reviewing product strategy in light of competitor activity/initiatives
We'd love to meet someone with...
  • Previous experience working as an 'Own Buy' Buyer with Womenswear experience
  • An ability to identify commercial opportunities, manage priorities and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • A creative eye with an awareness of current and upcoming trends and what is happening in the retail industry
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workload
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and others at all levels.
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and highly motivated
  • A sense of humour!
