Description

The Award The HIX Award is the first step to your life beyond Uni. The Award is a professional opportunity designed to give current students and recent graduates the chance to exhibit in a group exhibition at CNB, an established contemporary Shoreditch Art Gallery. The show will then go under the scrutiny of our 25 esteemed judges who will choose the official winner of The HIX Award 2016. This year judges include, Fru Tholstrop, Stephen Webster, Liz Murdoch, Mark Hix and more…
The Prize
The winner of HIX Award 2016 will be treated to £500 worth of Cass Art vouchers, a £1,000 Cash prize to go towards studio costs, the opportunity to create a limited edition print in iconic Jealous Studios in Shoreditch, £1,000 of HIX dining vouchers, a weekend trip to HIX Townhouse in Lyme Regis and last but certainly not least a feature in the autumn issue of HIX magazine!
This is a chance to build a long-standing relationship with a well-known Shoreditch Gallery with the opportunity to be part of a mentorship programme with previous HIX Award winners..
CNB Gallery
Located in the basement of Mark Hix's Shoreditch restaurant Tramshed, CNB Gallery was opened in 2012 as a dynamic space for contemporary artists. CNB Gallery gives a wide range of artists from the established to the undiscovered, the opportunity to showcase their work through exhibitions in a well-established East London Art Gallery. The Gallery is a celebration of Mark Hix’s love for combining outrageous Contemporary art with brilliant British food. Sharing the HIX hunger for innovation and creativity, Gallery Director Rebecca Lidert is a well-respected London curator who runs cutting-edge exhibitions which change on a 6 weekly basis.
Applications for THE HIX AWARD 2016 are entirely free and will take you a maximum of 10 minutes to complete. The deadline is the 9th July 2016.
