The role…
At Soho House the Chief Creative Officer, (CCO) will be responsible for our global creative output across all customer communication channels. They will lead an in-house creative agency and digital content marketing hub, comprising of all content, creative, design UX, UI, insights and marketing communication teams serving members globally. The role will be based in the London HQ/Support office.
The role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer and a substantial amount of time will be spent with the company founder on the creative direction of the brand. They will collaborate cross functionally with operations, membership, technology, experiences and events, retail, partnerships and people and development teams.
What we are looking for:
  • An experienced leader who has successfully inspired and led creative, design, digital marketing and communication teams.
  • An ability to conceive and develop innovative bespoke campaigns that support the overall global strategy while also uniquely targeting local and regional audiences, delivering intelligent content that results in increased conversion rates and revenue streams.
  • An understanding of ways to harness and engage our Soho House community through digital platforms, building a content experience that puts our members at the heart of everything we do.
  • An expert in multimedia content across all platforms including web, app design and channel management, who can build a creative hub for the company centered around our brands and membership tiers that is focused on content creation and commissions, art direction and design.
  • Influential leader who can manage complex and cross-functional organisational structures.
  • Strong and clear communicator who can operate and influence at all levels, can get things done and mange associated trade-offs.
  • An ability to create a framework which harnesses the creative vision and ideas of our founder.
  • Creative leader who understands how to engage with Millennials and Generation Z, who has a deep knowledge and understanding of digital, including CRM and personalisation.
Main Duties…
  • Leading our global digital marketing communication hub that is responsible for our major inbound and outbound marketing channels and any future growth marketing.
  • Ensuring the delivery and art direction of content which is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone of voice, and optimized for every platform including search, social media, email, point of purchase, mobile, video, print and in-person.
  • Mapping out a content strategy, determining which methods work for the brand and why. Continuous evolvement of strategy is a must.
  • Overseeing and developing a functional content calendar throughout Soho House & Co. and defining the owners in each vertical to persona groups.
  • Covering all digital activity including but not limited to; social media, management of brand websites and global eCRM as well as supporting the creation of digital centred campaigns.
  • Conducting ongoing usability tests to gauge content effectiveness. Gathering data and handling analytics (or supervising those who do) and making recommendations based on those results. Working with the owners of content to revise and measure content and marketing goals.
  • Developing standards, systems and best practices (both human and digital) for content creation, distribution, maintenance, content retrieval and content repurposing, including the real-time implementation of content strategies.
  • Leveraging market data to develop content themes/topics and developing assets that support a point of view and educate customers that in turn lead to critical behavioural metrics.
  • Supervising the maintenance of content inventories and matrices.
  • Ensuring a consistently global experience and implementing appropriate localisation/translation strategies.
  • Participation in the hiring of world-class content/storytellers in all content verticals.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 15 + years of experience as a respected leader in multichannel content creation (publishing, journalism, digital platforms etc.).
  • Storyteller with experience in building brands and communities
  • Experience managing managers and directors, including hiring, performance reviews, compensation packages, etc. required.
  • Experience operating in cross-functional organizations
  • Advertising agency experience with experience in digital advertising ecosystem
  • Portfolio of creative campaigns and work
  • Experience with creating compelling messages for different target demographics. Crisis communications experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of relevant creative and business software applications (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma InDesign, etc.).
  • Audience development and subscription strategies experience a plus
  • Multilingual abilities a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, English, Journalism, Public Relations or related communications field. MBA in marketing a plus.
