New Client Strategy & Planning Team... With the creation of this exciting new team, we are looking for a senior strategist to become our Client Strategy Controller. The principle of the role is to lead the development of closer and more strategic working relationships with clients that moves us from media partner to business partner. As a key strategic partner ITV/Client Strategy Controller would provide the client with unrivalled insight into their category, the ITV consumer, their buying patterns, preferences, attitude to the client brand and the metrics behind it.
ITV Commercial Partnership team - By being a planning/strategy expert in your category and by becoming a strategic partner for the client. Working alongside the Partnerships Sales Controllers, this person must have an in depth understanding of how to create a successful campaign based on category knowledge, competitor knowledge, audience knowledge and how to use that knowledge to create a competitive advantage.
Lead, Influence, Plan and Create...
  • Further develop and refine client targeting strategy within sales team portfolio identifying which clients to prioritise (reviewed annually)
  • Work with partnership sales controller to establish regular engagement strategy for each client, identify opportunities for longer-term projects and added value workstreams, working towards a plan for each major client that identifies annual scope of work
  • Build and maintain regular client contact across key accounts, strengthening relationships with senior clients and providing good insight and understanding of client business, marketing & brand challenges.
  • Scope and lead delivery of client projects spanning the core areas of the client team's work: inspiration, effectiveness, insight and innovation and which add high perceived value to the client relationship
  • Scope & develop 'think pieces' for categories & brands that showcase our insight and strategic expertise
  • Work closely and effectively with specialist internal teams (e.g. commercial audiences, advertising analytics) to ensure we make full use of available insight and resources
  • Monitor team activities to ensure they remain on strategy, meet high quality standards, deliver against team KPIs and respond effectively to feedback
  • Manage senior strategist and manager level strategy resource (coach, train, evaluate, etc)
  • Be knowledgeable about ITV's wider proposition and able to pull in specialist teams (advertising analytics, VOD, trading, etc) as necessary and desirable
  • Lead the on-going development of case studies that showcase effective and inspiring work with clients, which we can use as 'conversation starters'
  • Work w/ Client Strategy Director to develop new projects, workstreams to enhance our relationships with clients
The successful candidate will have the following key skills:-
  • Extensive senior planning and strategist background, ideally from creative, media agency or media owner
  • Excellent working knowledge of creative & media effectiveness, comms planning & creative processes
  • Proven expertise in media/comms planning and/or creative strategy and/or client marketing team
  • Smart, insightful, curious
  • Excellent consumer /audience understanding and cultural insight
  • Excellent communication skills & ability to work in partnership with a wide range of internal stakeholders
  • Strong insight & data /research skills
  • Creative and innovative thinking to drive new ideas
