About the role:
An exciting opportunity is now available to join the John Lewis Brand & Lifestyle Team as a Communications Assistant. The role supports the Senior Communications Manager, and the rest of the team by supporting all the comms campaigns and media events the team are working on. This is done by monitoring the coverage, managing sample requests, maintaining the image bank and compiling and distributing the weekly coverage report.

Overall:
To support the Brand & Lifestyle team by driving the following:
Daily media and influencer coverage recording and reporting
Supporting with image requests
Leading on all media sample loans and responsible for updating the system
Maintaining the seasonal content library
Compiling and distributing the weekly coverage report.
Support the successful delivery of market-leading PR events for the media, influencers and external stakeholders. Provide support from the planning stages through to delivery and support with follow-up and evaluation. The assistant will also be responsible for ensuring the right products arrive for each event so will need to work efficiently and proactively with the content and trading teams and co-ordinate all logistics.
Campaigns :Support the Brand & Lifestyle team with campaigns, product blasts, news ideas and trend stories to secure brand bundling coverage.
Papers and planning: Organise the team for our weekly paper review and support with ideas for planning, both proactive and reactive.
Loans: Facilitates an effective sample loan system for media samples which efficiently responds to media, securing the coverage and reduces cost and waste. The assistant also needs to be able to select products based on media briefs or independently suggest products based on knowledge of current trends, customer insight and industry data and be able to react quickly.. The assistant will need to be able to form and nurture strong relationships with trading colleagues to secure samples being effective, reliable and clear in all communications.
Gifting:Order, collate and send all influencer and media gifting. Support the team with wider influencer outreach every season.
Essential skills you’ll need:
Previous work experience or employment either in-house or PR agency
A general understanding of the media and how they work
Very well organised individual with great attention to detail and works well under pressure
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate with clarity and at pace
It would be great to also have:
Experience managing various different groups of stakeholders and product areas
Experience in monitoring, clipping and saving coverage
Knowledge of current trends ( Fashion, Home, Beauty for JL) and social trends
Ability to communicate with clarity and at pace
Awareness and knowledge of media including print media and online influencers
Excel skills and GPS trained for JL role
A keen interest in Retail
