We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, and experienced Community Event Lead to join our Community Team, reporting to the Community Manager at Devonshire Square. This person will work with the Community team, Member Experience/Hospitality team, Portfolio Events team and others to help support the strategy, ideation, execution, creative design and project management of all events around the WeWork campus.
Position Goals & Objectives
The overall goal is to ensure that we deliver world-class content and the highest quality, community-enhancing experience as possible for our members and the surrounding community. This role will help lead the team in overall community enrichment, top-funnel lead gen, and increased brand recognition through the use of targeted activations and events.
This role is intended to be a lead events role to act as a support within the Devonshire Square Community Team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Under the general guidance of the Community Leadership team and Events Team, responsible for leading, supporting, & when necessary executing all community events & activations along with related programming & partnerships.
  • Provide team leadership and impactful experiences that deliver powerful stories, proof points, and innovation at our community events, and manage the process of bringing these to life.
  • Co-develop detailed program/project execution plan and manage all implementation processes including project timelines, budgets, scope and definition, resource allocation, progress tracking, creative bill of materials, and on-time delivery within budget constraints.
  • Prepare and share communication plans to ensure that all new initiatives are rolled out effectively
  • Manage weekly updates to Manager and team on your efforts and results.
  • Oversee the monthly budgets and coordinate with stakeholders to submit invoices for promotions & entertainment.
  • Update all relevant programming calendars and disseminate information to operations and building team.
  • Work cross-functionally within the Community team, Events Team and others to build consensus, align goals and activities, to increase the impact on members and surrounding community.
  • Provide overall communication and interfaces with all areas affected by the programs/events, including cross-functional stakeholders, business sponsors and vendors.
  • Proactively manage and monitor execution of deliverables and status.
  • Continuously seek out opportunities to learn and improve the knowledge of the job.
  • Ability to understand and grasp the market, technology, product portfolio, positioning and competitors in order to help support event strategy and tactics.
In order to be successful in this role, we need someone who has:
  • Degree in Marketing, Communication, Hospitality, Business Management, or other related fields, would be beneficial
  • 2+ years of experience in events management, preferably in fast-paced or hyper-growth companies
  • A desire to thrives in rapid growth, fast-paced environment and adapts well to change; can act with urgency
  • Agile mind-set and eagerness to work on wide variety of tasks and projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding organizing aptitude yet thrives working in a dynamic and high-pace environment
  • A “Yes. And…” and “How do we?” approach to exploration, problem-solving, and consensus development
  • Strong team player skill set, with a can-do and want-to-help attitude; “Best outcome” over “my way” motivations
  • Online broadcast event production and delivery experience
  • A widely-respected reputation within a team dynamic, the inclusion of diverse ideas, and bringing these ideas into existence
  • Successfully participate in several consumer-facing events.  Should have significantly created or transformed an event or experience to increase its’ impact and reach its objectives
  • Exceptional leadership, team building, collaborative skills developing and working with high performing teams who understand business and audience needs. And proven ability to contribute to cross-functional global teams
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels of an organization via presentation, written, and spoken channels
  • Experience with social media/digital content creation and marketing automation software a plus
