Description

Content & Community Manager at The Future Forest Company (remote)

The Future Forest Company
Our mission is to reverse climate change by pioneering a commercially scalable and profitable model for reforesting and restoring degraded land. These future forests will sequester large amounts of CO2 whilst also providing multiple revenue streams: carbon offsets, commercial tree sponsorship products and sustainable forest-grown products. Profitable forests mean that we can scale up, buy more land and plant millions of trees, and operate at a size which significantly impacts the health of our planet.

About the role
As Content & Community Manager at The Future Forest Company, you will be responsible for putting together a content and social media plan, creating content of all kinds - whether that’s images, videos, podcasts, blogs etc - and building our community. The sky's the limit with this role - there is enormous potential for the kinds of creative content we can produce at The Future Forest Company. We need to educate people on a massive scale about climate change, and spread the word on what we’re doing.

Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with 3+ years of experience in a content focused role. Having an interest and ideally background in climate change, reforestation, agroecology, or ecology is a massive plus. We need someone super creative and resourceful who can simply get things done. We’re a small team with a huge mission, so you’ll need to be happy to work independently and manage your own time.

You will have the following responsibilities
  • Content creation
  • You will create a content & comms plan for The Future Forest Company across various platforms: social media, blog, our website and potentially podcasts, youtube etc with the aim of 1) educating people about climate change and what we can do about it, 2) promoting The Future Forest Company’s work & products.
  • You will execute on that plan, using your own content creation and design skills plus some outsourced work and potentially hiring a team in future.
  • Community building
  • You will build our community both online and offline
  • Online through social media
  • Offline through getting people involved with tree planting and ecosystem restoration (see below)
  • Volunteer programme creation & management
  • We have millions of trees to plant and many thousands of hectares to restore. We have lots of people who want to help us. We need to create a volunteer tree planting & restoration programme!
  • This will be essential for us to both get the trees in the ground and restore the land but also to educate people and get them involved in our mission.
  • You will liaise with our site managers on the practical side of actually planting the trees, but manage it up to that point.

What you’ll get
  • Salary dependent on experience, in the range of £25-35k annually
  • Shares in The Future Forest Company
  • Team building days & company offsites at our land in Scotland
  • The chance to help build a company that is leading the way in the fight against climate change
