Our ITV Commercial team is responsible for bringing in the £1.9bn worth of advertising that helps fund ITV's programming. However, our Commercial team isn’t just about advertising sales jobs, with an ever-changing marketplace and a multitude of new platforms just waiting for you to tap into, selling TV and online advertising has never been so exciting.
ITV commercial works with over 2000 advertisers to help them create campaigns that cut through competitive clutter, harness popular culture, build credibility, drive fame for their brands and transformational results for their businesses.
The recently established client strategy team sits within the ITV Commercial division and has an overall remit to help ITV build closer and more strategic relationships with its advertisers. We work with the broader commercial team to answer advertiser briefs, ensuring our ideas are rooted in insight and aligned with the client's brand strategy and creative platform.
We are looking for a Creative Strategy Exec who is culturally astute, passionately believes in the power of TV, and who is interested in how brands are built.
This role sits in the engine room of our client strategy team and its main focus is to draw on ITV proprietary and industry research (as well as your own budding foundational knowledge about brand strategy) to up the quality of our response to client briefs.
Strategy execs will work across multiple projects, categories and brands. It is a dynamic role where no two days will be the same. You need to be able to self-motivate and work well under pressure but also be proactive and get stuck into wider team life. You should bring energy, magpie-like curiosity, an entrepreneurial spirit and palpable restlessness to the team.
A strategy exec will be starting to form their own opinions and experience of what good strategy looks like and will be reading the key strategy texts and keeping up to date on the latest thinking and award papers.
You’ll embrace the chance to share your opinions with a variety of people, from sales teams to agency people and clients. You’ll enjoy researching and using data points to help you get to a point of view that ultimately influences your strategic point of view.
Working across brand partnership and sponsorship briefs - helping to craft creative and comms strategies that lead to top quality creative output
Contributing to and eventually owning creative briefs, from developing insight to briefing creative teams
Ability to distil complex information into simple strategic direction
Building strong relationships with sales execs and managers (your commercial partners in crime)
Presenting your strategic thinking to clients and agencies
Keeping on top of the latest industry reports and thinking, and sharing these will the team
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
Experience in a creative/brand/media/cultural insight agency, media owner or in-house creative agency teams.
A good understanding of the basic principles of good creative and comms strategy
Is confident distilling their thinking into a creative brief
Comfortable ‘in the grey’ aka we won’t always get the clearest briefs, we won’t always have time to approach something in a purist research way – you will need to be agile, commercial and adaptable
Collaborative and up for working with lots of different teams

Interest in, or experience of, using industry tools such to develop insight
