Primary Function of the Position
The Data and Analytics team within Tempcover provide a vital role in bringing data, MI and Insight to life for internal & external stakeholders and partners.
As Data Engineer you will be part of the data engineering function within the Data and Analytics team. This role will focus on supporting the integration and maintenance of our cloud based data platform, supporting data products that are key to the continued growth of Tempcover.
In the last 12 months the engineers have worked on numerous integrations with a new CRM tool, driving a step change in marketing performance. Combined with an extensive model of customer and Google Analytics data, this has provided valuable insight on our customer profiles.
This is a hands-on role with the ability to make a real difference in a data-driven business, whilst working within a business team using IT standards and processes.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ELT processes using Azure Data Factory.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimising data delivery, planning for greater scalability
Performance monitoring/tuning of pipelines and queries
Provide continued support to ensure high availability of data to the wider business
Collaborate with the MI & Analytics team to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective data models.
Liaise with business stakeholders to understand requirements for data
Work with rigour to ensure data quality/accuracy.
Identify issues and their underlying causes and clearly communicate them
Verify and validate data models, including reconciliation to operational systems
Communicate the status of your work in progress and planned work in daily stand-up meetings
Proactively suggest backlog items that add value to the Data team’s effectiveness and quality of data
