Description

We make books for everyone, because a book can change anyone. Our creativity is inspired by different perspectives, so we want our culture to be one of belonging, where everyone feels welcome and where differences are celebrated.
Do you love designing? Are you looking for the next step in your career as a book designer?
Puffin is home to so many imaginative and best-selling authors and illustrators. Our designers work on a huge range of different books but what they all have in common is clever creativity and outstanding design. Our brilliant designers look after some of the very best and established authors, illustrators and classic brands in children's publishing alongside finding and nurturing new illustration talent.
We are looking for a talented and highly creative designer to join the Puffin Picture Books & Illustrated Non-Fiction team. We want a designer with exceptional type and layout skills to manage book projects from conception to production. You will have experience of collaborating with authors, illustrators, editors, production colleagues and other designers to create must have packages. You will be organised and a good clear communicator, but above all we are looking for a great, proactive designer who is bursting with ideas and understands what engages young children.
You'll be a fluent user of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work to a deadline.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for children's book design. It's a great time to join Puffin, so if this is you please apply with a PDF of your CV, three examples of your design work that you are most proud of and a short letter which tells us why this role caught your eye.
The closing date for this opportunity is midnight on Sunday 1st March 2020.
Please note, we are not able to accept agency CV's for this role. Any CV's sent speculatively, will not be eligible for a fee.
This role is currently based at our offices on the Strand. As part of our company wide office move in Spring - Summer 2020, this role will be moving to our Embassy Gardens offices in Nine Elms, Vauxhall.
