The Role:
As a Digital Product Designer at New Look you will have the opportunity to create delightful and engaging experiences, pushed to millions of users every week. You will lead design projects in your squad across the entire product lifecycle and multiple product launches covering both the UX and UI disciplines. You will partner with product managers and engineers to find elegant and practical solutions to design challenges and you will work closely with engineers as they build and ship ideas. You will get to know our customers and leverage their feedback to quickly ideate, design, iterate, and launch products and features they love and at the same time, meet our business needs.
  • As a Digital Product Designer you will be responsible for the full digital product design cycle from concept to finished product across your area of responsibility.  You will develop and own the way our customers will interact digitally with New Look
  • You will be responsible for information architecture, customer journey mapping, wireframing, UI design, asset creation and design sign off in sprint.
  • You will partner with Product Management, Engineering, Optimisation, external partners, and wider cross-functional teams to build exceptional digital experiences
  • You will understand our product, brand and customer goals to create innovative market leading solutions. You will develop an in-depth understanding of the New Look customer across all digital channels
  • You will fully utilise user research, analytics, and competitor / market insight to identify opportunities to continually optimise the product
  • You will produce polished, high-fidelity mockups and prototypes of product / feature workflows to walk through with Product Managers, Engineers and other stakeholders. You will produce high quality design assets ready for development.
  • You will play a vital role in the wider New Look Design community, sharing and communicating best practice to create a consistent, on brand approach across channels.  You will be an evangelist of digital design excellence within the wider business.

About You:
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ideally with strong retail or B2C experience, you can simplify complex ideas and maximise business value. You will have experience of working within an Agile environment using Scrum or Kanban methodology
  • You have a relentless, customer first mindset always striving to improve customer service metrics and experiences. A portfolio of work demonstrating strong product design and ways of working. You love thinking big and at the same time you know when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail
  • Proven experience of UX research and development and designing digital product UI across web and mobile.
  • You have a proven track record of delivering solutions that enhance business KPIs. You can understand and discuss technical concepts and critical infrastructure
  • You are continually researching product design best practice, keeping up with the industry. You have experience and knowledge of behavioural and digital research methods
  • You will have developed the ability to define, develop and articulate digital initiative goals, objectives, and scope. You have developed the ability to manage and meet deadlines and can demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills and an obsessive problem solver. You define solutions based on a thorough, methodical and data driven approach
  • You have the communication skills and people-focused design mentality to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts. You’re a brilliant team player, communicator and facilitator
  • You will encourage an insight driven culture across the teams to ensure a continuous improvement programme exists along with strong examples of ‘test and learn’ activities. You will have experience of A/B testing and of working alongside an optimisation team
  • You are a confident decision maker and demonstrate the ability to use sound commercial and technical judgement, to prioritise and deal effectively with fast changing scenarios, and to ensure that decisions are made and communicated in a timely manner. You will be effective at developing strong working relationships with key colleagues across many business areas including IT, eCommerce, BMD, Marketing, SEO and Analytics. Your influencing skills will be critical for you to effect change and to get things done at pace
  • You will build strong relationships with strategic partners and third parties, engaging directly with senior colleagues within these organisations as required
  • You will have the confidence, experience and gravitas required to represent the function strongly at key forums. You will communicate with, and challenge, key stakeholders utilising strong argument and actionable insights
  • Strong experience in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Suite, InVision etc. Ability to prototype using appropriate tools that display the required experience
  • Good knowledge of web analytics such as Adobe Analytics and Google Analytics
  • Ideally you will have a University degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant professional experience.
