The Trampery is a London-based specialist in workspace, housing and neighbourhoods for creative businesses and entrepreneurs. It’s constituted as a social enterprise with all profits to support its community. Since its inception eight years ago founding Tech City’s first startup workspace, The Trampery has cultivated an ecosystem of eight acclaimed shared workspaces and sector-focused facilities across London.
The Trampery’s community includes more than 500 amazing startups and creative businesses; spanning acclaimed names in software, fashion, arts and media. Each one of them has remarkable and inspiring stories to tell. As we go through a period of rapid expansion that will see us double in size, we are looking for an in-house storyteller to capture our members’ stories through a range of media and share them with the world.
  • Build familiarity with members and alumni to identify stories worth telling, supported by input from other team members
  • Capture and publish stories in different media as appropriate, including:
Video interviews
Photographic reportage
Blog posts
Twitter, Instagram & Facebook posts
Press releases
  • Engage with members and alumni through electronic channels and face to face
  • Give occasional presentations
  • Keep The Trampery’s website ( up to date including briefing and liaison with our web developers
  • Coordinate and edit the monthly email newsletter running on Mailchimp, getting input from other team members as relevant
  • Manage paid-for posts across various channels and campaigns
  • Track performance of web and social media content via analytics to inform strategy
  • Project a consistent and distinctive “voice” for The Trampery that represents our ethos
  • Act as point of contact for press enquiries, distributing images and writing promotional copy
  • Born talent for telling entertaining, engaging stories
  • Ability to identify the key elements in a complex story and make it intelligible for a wide audience
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Excellent interviewing skills
  • Visual flair
  • Fluency working with photography, video and text to capture and share stories across digital platforms
  • Competence with mainstream image and video editing software
  • Imagination and ability to find alternatives to the obvious narrative
  • Ability to work autonomously and take the initiative without requiring external direction
