Christie’s has an exciting opportunity to join their newly formed Digital Design department, who are driving digital innovation within the organisation. The team is building new website experiences, new art buying platforms, and leading innovation across the digital presentation of auctions and lots, virtual galleries, AR, and other new experiences. You would assist the organization in defining, researching, and testing new business opportunities.
This role will be part of a newly formed cross-functional ‘change team’ working with highly motivated colleagues to create dynamic new products and services that leverage the latest technologies to support and maximise the success of auctions.
We are looking for a UX Designer to design software and platforms that meet Christie’s client needs. You will combine interfaces and workflows to enhance user experience. In this role, you should be an analytical and creative designer who is able to grasp user needs and solve problems. A strong portfolio of successful UX and other technical projects is essential. Ultimately, you will make our product more user-friendly and intuitive to attract and retain clients and create amazing user experiences on Chrisites.com.
From assisting with brand new white label products and integrations of new services, all the way through to integration with existing core engineering platforms. This is a new team that will work in a fast-paced start-up like environment within the wider organisation.
Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs
Find creative ways to solve UX problems and bring clients to auctions and lots
Understand product specifications and user psychology
Collaborate with internal research teams to conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback
Create personas through user research and data
Work with UI designers to implement attractive designs
Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers
Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends
Focus on the most valuable priorities to offer the best result for the user, and the business;
Finding the careful balance between build quality and speed of delivery
Adhere to style standards on fonts, colors and images
Being involved in a collaborative cross-functional team
Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback
Iterating on anything and everything to make incremental improvement in a test-and-learn approach;
Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, or similar role
Strong portfolio of design projects
Experience or interest in the Art Market preferred
Background in project management and research
Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
Proficient in Figma design software
Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
Problem-solving aptitude
Analytical mind with a business acumen
Team spirit; effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
Excellent communication and time-management skills
BSc in Design, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
