Description

The Serpentine Galleries is one of the most influential and innovative organisations championing the possibilities of art, architecture and design.
Founded in 1970, we are celebrating our “50+1” Anniversary in 2021 with a fundraising campaign to galvanise support for three areas of programming which we have identified as the most vital matters shaping the future: ecology, technology and community.  These key themes are relevant to Serpentine’s legacy and we are now seeking a Director of Development to implement our goals of broadening our network for supporters through this time of change across the arts philanthropy landscape, to help us achieve our ambitions.
Reporting to the Chief Executive and working closely with the Artistic Director, you will be at the forefront of driving the campaign and ensuring its success.  You will lead and motivate a professional and high-performing team, and manage our fundraising efforts, ensuring that our targets are reached.
You will bring experience of developing and implementing successful fundraising strategies and campaigns, and galvanising teams to get the best out of them. Your dynamic and innovative approach will be grounded in strong organisational and project management skills, and your business acumen will ensure that the team stays focussed on results.  You may not have personally secured philanthropic gifts, however you have assisted senior leaders, volunteers and fundraisers to engage with prospective and existing donors, and understand what it takes to secure their support.
Working at the Serpentine comes with a range of benefits to help you plan for the future, save money and enjoy life.
This includes:
25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
Pension Scheme
Employee Assistance Programme
Flexible working
Career breaks
Staff discount on Gallery merchandise and with onsite cafes and bookshop
Discounted at entry at some museums
If you believe you have the skills, aptitude and enterprising spirit to identify and maximise opportunities for the Serpentine, we would like to hear from you.
CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS IS 10AM ON TUESDAY, 6 JULY 2021
